Omg! help, whats this called?

There is, or was, a .t.v. show not long ago about, either the world or just that state, where everyone blacked out for like 10 minutes. I think J.J. Abrams did this show I'm not sure. & something happened while everyone was blacked out. And the people who blacked are tryin to figure our what's going on. Please help if possible.
