Why do soccer players cry for offsides?

Most of the games I see players crying while the other team keeps playing and either almost score a goal or do. I know what offsides is but I just don't see the point in crying for it, when your whining could end up being the reason your team loses. If the ref calls it he calls it, but don't take that chance of letting your guard down then boom 1-nil. I am not clowning because American athletes always cry. BUT usually not when the game is acutally being played.
